Buy Pro

Tinwell is a donation platform for UK charities, built for WordPress. It comes in two editions. The free edition is coming to the WordPress.org plugin directory; until it is live, a Tinwell licence includes everything in both columns below.

Free edition

Tinwell (free) has everything you need to take donations, run campaigns, keep Gift Aid declarations and look after donor data.

Pro add-on

Tinwell Pro is an add-on for growing charities. It adds Direct Debit, CRM sync, the Gift Aid claims workflow, analytics and maps, tools that help keep regular donors, more campaign components and more.

✓

Neither edition takes a fee on donations, and protecting donor data is never an upgrade: every security and privacy feature is in the free edition.

For the full detail of what the plugin does, see the features page; for what a Pro licence costs and what it includes, see pricing. If you are comparing WordPress donation plugins, see Tinwell against GiveWP and Charitable, or our guide to the best WordPress donation plugins for UK charities.

What Pro adds

Direct Debit through GoCardless

Take regular gifts by Direct Debit alongside card payments, through your own GoCardless account.

  • Donors get a thank-you as soon as their Direct Debit is set up, and the gift is scheduled once their bank confirms it.
  • Donors can pause, resume or change the amount of their Direct Debit from the donor portal.
  • Payment routing lets you decide which method takes which gifts: for example, cards for one-off gifts and Direct Debit for regular ones.

CRM sync

Connect Donorfy, Beacon or Raisely, and Tinwell keeps it up to date as gifts come in.

  • Donors and their gifts are sent to your CRM, with Gift Aid declarations, regular gifts, refunds and contact preferences where your CRM supports them.
  • Push a campaign to your CRM, or bring a CRM campaign into Tinwell.
  • An activity log shows every sync, and anything that failed can be retried.
  • When a donor asks to be erased, your CRM is told too.

Gift Aid claims

A dedicated Gift Aid page turns the declarations Tinwell keeps into a claim.

  • See every declaration, with an unclaimed view of what still needs to go to HMRC.
  • Export the claim schedule as a CSV file.
  • Mark those gifts as claimed, so you always know what has already been sent.

Analytics and maps

An Analytics page that shows how your fundraising is going and where it comes from.

  • Trends over any date range, and a comparison of one period with another that you can download as a PDF.
  • Campaign cards with donations, average gift, Gift Aid, regular giving, donors and pace.
  • Donor retention and how well your donation form converts.
  • Maps of where donations come from, and your top donation areas.
  • An analytics tab on each donor’s record.

Keeping regular donors

Give donors ways to adjust a regular gift instead of cancelling it.

  • Change the amount of a regular gift from the donor portal.
  • Update the card behind a regular card gift.
  • Pause and resume a Direct Debit.

More for your campaigns

Five extra campaign components and alerts that keep you in touch with progress.

  • Impact cards, a supporter wall, a countdown timer, an impact map, and partner and sponsor logos.
  • An alert when a campaign reaches 50%, 75% and 100% of its goal.
  • An alert when a high-value gift arrives.

More ways to give and record

  • Gifts in memory of someone, with a tribute field on your donation form.
  • Record offline gifts (cash, cheque, bank transfer, card in person) so every gift is in one place.

For developers

  • API tokens for secure server-to-server access.
  • Headless mode, to use your own donation form front end.

Good to know

  • Tinwell Pro is an add-on. You install Tinwell and Tinwell Pro side by side, and activate Pro with your licence key.
  • Your data stays in your own WordPress database in both editions, with donor details encrypted.
  • Neither edition takes a fee on donations. Only your payment provider’s standard fees apply.
  • If a Pro licence lapses and its grace period ends, gifts already in progress are still recorded, including Direct Debit collections. Pro’s other features pause until the licence is renewed, and the admin shows what is paused.
  • If Pro is switched off, Tinwell carries on as the free edition. Notifications from GoCardless and your CRM are held for 14 days and processed when Pro is back, and updates your CRM must hear about, such as erasure requests and preference changes, wait in a queue.
